Maiden Pinks

Maiden Pinks

Perennial

Members of the Dianthus Confetti Series produce a profusion of small, serrated blooms above low growing, tufted, evergreen foliage. This popular cultivar has tiny, starry, deep burgundy flowersthat begin bloom in mid-May and continue into late spring and early summer. The bloom will even repeat later in the summer if plants are sheared back lightly after the first blooms fade. The handsome, narrow evergreen leaves are bronzy-green and form a thick carpet. Thriving in sun to partial shade, these tough, hardy plants are fast to spread and self-sow freely, making them ideal as a groundcover. Their low profile makes them the perfect addition in tubs and mixed containers, patio niches, rock walls and gardens. This easy care perennial groundcover is a good choice for poor soils and can be easily divided in early spring or fall.
