This beautiful fountain-like plant features a waterfall of spectacular pinkish-purple pea-like blooms held in strings approaching 6 long starting in early August and continuing into September. While the flowers are the most spectacular aspect of this plant, you cant go wrong with the form and foliage that is a little off the beaten path for most woodies. Blue-green, pea-like, trifoliate foliage lines up along arching stems adding to its flowing, spreading look in the landscape. The heavy, spectacular bloom weighs the stems down even more creating a groundcover effect that really lights up the summer landscape. Gibraltar is very effective when planted on slopes or grown in masse for a stunning show of color. Its easy to grow, tolerates sandy soils, full sun and even brutal spring pruning, springing back even stronger and bolder once cut back hard.
