Leaves are bright yellow in spring turning to a chartreuse green in summer. The petioles are red on both sides providing a nice contrast against the yellow. Hosta ‘Designer Genes’ stands out with its bright foliage and nicely contrasting red petioles and purple flowers. It is a brilliant yellow in the spring, even when grown in a lot of shade.
