Devil’s Advocate’ is quite snail- and slug-resistant, and it comes by its toughness honestly. It is a sport of the beloved ‘Blue Angel,’ but we believe it actually outdoes its famous parent for ornamental appeal and leaf substance. Like all Hostas, it becomes more textured and beautiful with each passing year, and is very long-lived. In midsummer, small white blooms arise on 4-foot scapes from the center of the plant. Though not too showy, they do attract butterflies and hummingbirds to the shade! Out of bloom, the plant reaches 3 feet high and about 4 feet wide, an excellent size for the foundation or a low hedge as well as a border accent. Enjoy this masterpiece.
