New foliage blazes with vibrant coral-orange, then softens to mid-green before blasting off again in autumn as ruby-red. Vigorous upright grower is great in mass planting or for impressive specimen treatment. Easy to grow. Tolerates drought and sandy, rough soils once established. Great foliage color and unique narrow, upright form allows for use in narrow areas of landscape.

What a show in the landscape! Burgundy Carousel® has rich, burgundy red foiliage that is larger then the average purple barberry. Long, graceful stems create a vase shape in the landcape, creating a beautiful texture.  Yellow flowers bloom along the stems in spring creating quite a contrast to the dark foliage. Barberry is an easy plant to grow, drought tolerant and the deer tend to avoid it.

At last! A seed free version of compact Barberry that IS NOT invasive!  This UConn bred selection will grace the landscape with a dense, compact form and bright gold foliage that nearly glows in the landscape. Easy to grow, colorful and deer resistant.

Cheerful, bright yellow star-shaped flowers arrive in fall. The sword-like foliage of Hello Yellow is spectacular when planted in masses. Belamcanda are tropical-like flowers in the summer that age to an ornamental seed pod which dries nicely for arrangements. Clusters of blackberry like ornamental seed pods add winter interest.

From breeding work at the Chicago Botanical Garden comes a new plant that has taken the plant industry by storm. ‘Twilight Prairie Blues’ is a cross of two native Baptisia species resulting in the creation of a big, beefy, heavily blooming plant that is, in a word, unforgettable. Like all Baptisia, the spring sees multiple thick stalks rapidly rising from the ground to form a considerable bush of deep, blue-green pea-like foliage. Spikes of flowers form at the top of each stem and open in late May to show off fantastically two-toned purple colored hooded flowers with bright yellow keels. Its bloom is long-lasting into early July to put an exclamation point on a plant that is amazingly easy to grow in full sun and well-drained soil.

An impressively vigorous native cultivar. Long, charcoal grey stems carry the cool lemon yellow flowers, producing an excellent floral display atop the compact, upright mound of blue-green foliage. You’ll be impressed with the excellent vigor of this yellow flowered selection. It forms an upright, vase-shaped mound of attractive blue-green foliage topped with long, charcoal stems which carry the lemon yellow flowers in late spring to early summer, followed by decorative seed pods in fall. The contrast of dark stems with light flowers really pops in the landscape, delivering an excellent floral display. This easy care, drought tolerant, deer resistant perennial is an excellent choice for gardeners looking for low maintenance or native perennials.

An unusually beautiful and unique flower color as well as densely branched foliage set this new variety apart. Deep maroon buds open to bicolor maroon and yellow flowers held on strong scapes above the blue-green foliage in late spring to early summer. Secondary branching on the flower stems makes this variety especially floriferous. As the flowers age, they turn gold. Well-branched stems form a bushy, upright spreading mound of foliage that is relatively short for Baptisia. It is a good candidate for the middle of the flower border. Ornamental seed pods extend the season of interest into fall.

In early summer, 10″ tall spikes of caramel brown flowers with yellow keels are borne on a bushy, rounded clump. The intense brown color does not fade to yellow as some other bicolor varieties do. Lush blue-green foliage forms a  bushy, rounded clump that looks great in any sunny garden. Brownie Points flowers are a favorite for many butterflies while deer tend to avoid this easy to grow perennial. Heat and drought tolerant.
