Narrow and upright growing, Tropicanna® Gold carries huge oval shaped leaves that are alternately pin striped from the midrib in deep green and blinding yellow. It’s an amazing foliage show that will galvanize any sunny garden spot and draw immediate attention and that’s without even talking about its superb bloom. Flower buds appear on long, sturdy stalks that rise above the foliage and open to searing orange colored, yellow edged flowers beginning in early June and continuing into September. Try Tropicanna® Gold in a container for a real conversation starter. Foliage will not color as well in partial sun or at temperatures consistently below 60 degrees F.

Early to show in the garden, Marsh Marigold is at home in the most moist part of the landscape, in fact, it will not tolerate drying out and prefers at least some partial shade. Plant it in groups in any wet areas and get prepared for a show with almost fleshy, deep green, rounded foliage emerging early and held aloft on stalks with longer stalks pushing flower buds above the foliage in late April. These buds open in early May to reveal clusters of waxy yellow cups that contrast with the foliage and put on a great show into early June. Marsh Marigold is a great early nectar source for native bees and insects and a great source of cover for loads of landscape critters.

Looking for a fast-growing yet dwarf golden barberry? This is it! This burn-resistant gem shines, even in the heat of summer. The foliage has hints of orange in the new growth and turns orange-red in fall. Neat, mounded habit lends itself perfectly for use along the foundation, in a small space garden, in a container or grouped to form a tight, formal small hedge in any full sun location.

A unique dwarf, low, mounding golden barberry with attractive red new growth and red fall color. Proven to be burn resistant in side by side tests with other yellow leaved barberry. This is an excellent low maintenance plant for mass plantings or tight spaces that need a shot of bright color.

Golden barberry just got better! This bright yellow barberry has a neat, rounded habit that results in a uniformly ball-shaped plant. It makes an excellent low-maintenance hedge, needing little if any pruning to maintain its shape. This plant was evaluated for over five years in full sun to ensure excellent burn-resistance, so it will perform better in full sun than other yellow Berberis.

We gave this outstanding new barberry the name Sunjoy Todo because it really does have it all: deeply colorful glossy foliage, bright flowers, a neat and useful habit, and absolutely no worries about invasiveness. Like other barberries, it offers low-maintenance color to sunny spots and is highly resistant to deer. Sunjoy Todo barberry is also unlike other barberries in that it is semi-evergreen, keeping the leaves on the ends of its branches all year-round for a touch of four season interest. Though the golden spring blooms do develop red berries, there is no seed within, as proven in multiple rounds of university testing. This ground-breaking barberry will be available in garden centers in spring 2019.

This shrub has a much richer burgundy color than ‘Crimson Pygmy’. Spring foliage is deep burgundy, holding its color throughout summer, turning to showy red-black in autumn. This plant will outsell ‘Crimson Pygmy’ when placed side-by-side.
