Calathea: April Houseplant Highlight


Our Houseplant Highlight for April is Calathea! These neat houseplants are called “Prayer Plant” because they tend to fold their leaves upward during the night (like a prayer) and unfurl in the morning. Calatheas are pet-safe and come in many stunning, colorful varieties. They also make perfect bathroom or kitchen plants as they prefer indirect light!

Light Needs

  • Prefers bright indirect light
  • Avoid direct sun

Water Needs

  • Keep soil moderately moist (dig into the soil with your finger to check it once or twice a week)
  • Loves humidity
