Air Purifying Houseplants


Houseplants are not only gorgeous to look at, but they provide several health-improving qualities to our homes, as well! Many houseplants have been shown to remove toxic chemicals from our air and produce refreshing oxygen and humidity inside our homes. Here is a list of several houseplants to help you breathe easy this Winter!

Snake Plants

  • Bright to low indirect light.
  • Lightly water every 14 days (allow soil to completely dry before watering).
  • Prefers temperatures of 55-85 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Feed with slow-release fertilizer every other month (March through November).

Flamingo Flower

  • Bright to medium indirect light.
  • Water every 3-5 days.
  • Prefers temperatures of 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Feed with slow-release fertilizer every other month (March through November).

Chinese Evergreen

  • Medium to low indirect light.
  • Water every 7-10 days.
  • Prefers temperatures of 68-77 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Feed with slow-release fertilizer every other month (March through November).

Pothos

  • Bright to low indirect light.
  • Lightly water every 7-14 days (allow the soil to dry completely before re-watering).
  • Prefers temperatures of 65-85 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Feed with slow-release fertilizer every other month (March through November).

Orchids

  • Bright to low indirect light.
  • Water weekly (allow the soil to dry completely before re-watering).
  • Prefers temperatures of 55-85 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Feed with slow-release fertilizer every other month (March through November).

Dracaena

  • Bright to low indirect light.
  • Maintain moist soil (not wet).
  • Prefers temperatures of 65-75 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Feed with slow-release fertilizer every other month (March through November).
