Absolutely one of the best Apples for baking, ciders and sauce, this selection was discovered in the orchards of Alfred Snapp in Winchester, VA. Alfred was an experienced Apple grower and the color of this fruit caught his eye immediately. He found out that, not only was this fruit beautiful, but its quality was higher than many of the varieties he was growing all on a tree that was fantastically vigorous and productive. Snapp™ Stayman has sterile pollen so it does require another Apple planted nearby for cross pollination and it will not be a pollinizer for other Apples. Pairing it with another late harvesting Apple is perfect and will allow you to harvest these delicious Apples in mid October.
