Here’s another in the long line of great northern hardy Azaleas to come from Weston Nursery. ‘Nectar’ is a deciduous beauty that is vigorous yet dense growing with clean, long, lustrous, deep green foliage that emerges bronzy colored in late April and matures with an upright orientation that exposes its silvery leaf underside. Deciduous Azaleas can confound you at times with the lateness of their bloom but this selection’s flower is worth the wait as a myriad of light pink flowers with an orange glow and pleasing light fragrance emerge to form clusters in late June. Reddish fall color completes a season of beauty on this plant that is perfectly happy to grow as a specimen or grouped together to form a woodline barrier in partial shade.
